Longtime sports writer and editor Mike Kovak shares his views on music, sports, life and more. After working at The Pitt News, Kovak spent two years covering local sports at the Beaver County Times. In 1999, he joined the sports staff at the Observer-Reporter in Washington, Pa., where he covered everything from high school football to Pitt football and basketball to Steelers home games. After 13 years there, he spent a year as the sports editor of the Tribune-Democrat in Johnstown, located near his native Somerset. Now, a resident of Greensburg, Kovak works behind the scenes as the assistant night editor at the Observer-Reporter.
